 VACANCY DETAILS 

1. (Vacancy No. 21070801210) Three vacancies for the post of Assistant Director (Chemistry) in the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage, Faridabad, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (SC- 01, UR-02). The post is Permanent. Pay Scale: Level-10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC, General Central Service, Gourp ‘A’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. Age: 35 years. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: (A) EDUCATIONAL: i) M.Sc in Agricultural Chemistry or M.Sc in Chemistry with specialization either in Organic Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a recognized University or Institution.(B) EXPERIENCE: Three years practical experience of work relating to analysis of Pesticides using modern sophisticated analytical instruments such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, High performance liquid chromatography, Gas Liquid Chromatography, etc. in a Central Government or State Government Department or Public Sector undertaking or Agricultural University or in an Autonomous or Statutory or Semi-Government Organization or in any recognized Research Institute or Councils. DESIRABLE: Doctorate degree in Agricultural Chemistry or Doctorate Degree in Chemistry (with Research work on Pesticides related subjects) from a recognized University. NOTE: I: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. NOTE:II: The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission, is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them. DUTIES: (a) Analysis of pesticides and residues by latest physic-chemical methods. (b)Training, research and development work on modern instrumental methods. (c) Determination of pesticides contamination in environment. (d) National surveys on residue analysis to determine the extent of contamination of food, food commodities and assist in establishment of tolerance limits. (e) National Surveys on Quality control of pesticides formulations held in the market as per ISI specifications and Training of analysis in modern techniques of pesticide analysis. HQ: Faridabad, Haryana with liability to serve anywhere in India. 


 2. (Vacancy No. 21070802210) Three vacancies for the post of Nautical Surveyorcum-Deputy Director General (Technical) in the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai, Ministry of Shipping (SC- 01, EWS-01, UR-01). The post is Permanent. Pay Scale: Level-12 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC, General Central Service, Gourp ‘A’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. Age: 50 years. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: (A) EDUCATIONAL: Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ship as recognized by the Government of India; (B) EXPERIENCE: Five years service as Deck Officer, after obtaining the certificate of competency of second mate (Foreign Going), of which one year must have been in capacity of a Master on a Foreign going ship. DESIRABLE: (i) Extra Master’s Certificate of Competency; or Master of Science Degree in Maritime Affairs awarded by a recognized University. (ii) Experience in survey and inspection of merchant ships and examination work for one year or more on the date of submission of application to the Union Public Service Commission. NOTE: I: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. DUTIES: Pertaining to Chapter IV of SOLAS including M.S (DSRC) Rules, Chapter VI, VII and XII of SOLAS, Carriage of Cargo Rules, IMDG Code, Approval of Cargo Securing Manual, STCW, Fishing vessel, Casualty investigation of ships, other duties arising under M.S. Act, 1958. HQ: Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai and Mercantile Marine Departments located all over India.
